Maybe a re-post

I am so tired today (I feel like I write that all the time ... summer? Where are you?). I didn't even have the energy to take a new picture, so I am posting one I took a few days ago. Hopefully it isn't a re-post.
I did, however, have the energy to try to make a baby-friendly version of hummus for Lucy to try tonight. She's a great eater in general, so I figured, "Why not?" Despite my attempt, Lucy took one bite and then looked at me like, "Mama, you canNOT be serious with this." Then, not only spit it out, but refused to eat anything else on her plate, pretty much telling me that my betrayal of her taste buds was unforgivable for the rest of the evening. It wasn't our best meal, to date. I am sure this scenario will be repeated several times over the next few years.
Thank you all for you kind thoughts and words yesterday. They are very much appreciated. Needless to say, our thoughts are at home right now and we wish could be there. Thank goodness for technology, which keeps us in good communication. We've come along way from Ethiopia in the early 70's, right M & N?
