A great weekend

This weekend was non-stop, but super fun. It started out with a birthday party on Friday night and then last night we had our Halloween party. Pete was a Mariners baseball player and I was a cowgirl. The costume of the night was "Captain Canada" played by Greg, the guy who we said looks like Ben Stiller. He wore a red full-body suit, much like a lousier outfit, a Canadian cap, and draped a Canadian flag around his shoulders. It was completely hilarious. We didn't stop laughing for ten minutes when he came out. I thought the party went well overall and it was great fun.
Today was a major adventure. This morning we cleaned up and did some chores around the house, then I went with Derek to the store. Well ... after we loaded up on groceries, Derek was bound and determined to drive to McDonalds, which is on the other side of the street. While doing a U-turn, he hit the curb and blew the tire out on the car. So, here we are, in Bulgaria, with a flat tire. Nice. Although I feel like I'm starting to pick up some key phrases in Bulgarian, neither of us speak the language well enough to tell someone we need help changing a tire. The whole story is too long to write here, but let's just say that we walked to a gas station, who sent us to a tire shop, where finally we met someone who spoke English, who was able to tell his friend to go upstairs to his apartment and get an old tire he had and bring it down to put on our Lada. In the end, after everything was said and done, it was a good story to tell.
In other news ... Pete and I booked our flight to Milan for Christmas and we also booked a hotel room in Cinque Terre from the 22nd to the 27th. From there we will go to Siena, but we don't have the details on that figured out yet. If you want to check out were we are staying in Cinque Terre, you can take a look at this site: http://www.roomartina.com/ (We're in Room #3).
It's taking too long to upload pictures from the party, so I'll do it tomorrow. Have a great week!
