Some days nothing goes as planned. Today was one of those days. For instance, I did not plan on waking up at 2:30 in the morning and never really going back to sleep. Lucy is doing great falling asleep somewhere around 8-9pm every night and sleeping until somewhere between 2-3:30. However, once she wakes up, she eats, falls back asleep, but the minute I put her in her crib the struggle begins. She only wants to sleep on me. Grrr ... I mean, it feels wonderful to have your little one sleep on you, but it's kind of difficult to get some sleep yourself. I haven't tried the swing yet, so that is tonight's mission. We'll see.
The rest of the day didn't goes as planned either. Pete and I decided to go to Lamma Island today. I was excited to take the ferry and spend the day on a family outing. We left the house in the early afternoon to catch the 1:30 ferry. Neither of us had any cash (none - Marge, I know you are cringing right now), but we assumed we could use our Octopus Cards and get money when we got there. Well, we were wrong. We got to the ferry about 1:15, they didn't take Octopus Cards, so Pete tried to run and get money before the ferry left. Unfortunately, none of the machines would accept his HSBC card. So he came back empty handed as the ferry pulled away. As we were deciding what to do, I decided that I should at least go and find an HSBC bank, so I did. The line at the cash machine was huge and by the time I got back to Pete and Lucy, Lucy was howling. So, I took this opportunity to feed her in public - right in front of two construction workers who were fixing the sidewalk in front of us. Lovely. It went well though (Thanks Anne and Patrick for my Modest Mama cover up!). Anyway, we decide that we should head back home and try again tomorrow. We start to look for a taxi, but can't find one. We end up walking home with Lucy howling the whole way (hot and hungry, I think). Our big family outing day didn't really turn out as planned. I guess these things happen. We've spent the afternoon relaxing, though, which has been nice. I guess we'll try again tomorrow.

Hey T, P, and lil L,
I love the smiling pic! I couldn't help but giggle when I saw it. I am sorry the adventure didn't turn out as planned... but, at least you know how the whole system works now. 35 days... can't wait! Love, love, love, Katy
