One day back and already a day off ... NICE!!

- A picture of my office

Well, yesterday was our first day back to work with the whole staff (the other days were just for new teachers), but today was already a day off! Yeah! It's a Bulgarian holiday, so we had the whole day to play and then tomorrow it's back to the grind. Pete and I went to the Red Market this morning and had coffee and a banitza, then I came home and went shopping in downtown Sofia with the girls. I'm starting to love downtown. It's so fun to go with people who have been here for a while so they can show you the haunts. I stopped at the store on the way home and in a minute I will start preparing dinner. Although I got some of the ingredients at the westernized grocery store, I got all of the vegetables downtown at the Women's Market. Men and women can go there - that's just what it's called. There are lots of things at the Women's Market, but my favorite thing is all the fresh fruits and vegetables. I'm going to try and make a chicken corn chowder. It's already getting chilly here so soup sounds really good.
I can't believe we have only been here for two weeks! It feels like a year! It was good to get off campus today and explore. There is so much fun stuff to see.
Pete is over at one of the houses setting up a Fantasy Football team with some of the other staff. I am SO happy about this as now he will have TWO teams to manage! I'll be lucky if I every get a chance to blog again after this one!
OH ... the big news around here is that they are filming a movie! Yeah! Can you believe that? The movie is called "The Contract" and it's stars Morgan Freeman and John Cusak. I'm not sure if they are in the scenes they are filming here, but there are movie vans everywhere. I'll take pictures tomorrow and post them. Pete is determined to get a starring role ... I guess I wouldn't mind one either :)
Today's pictures are of my new office mates. The short haired one is Karen. Karen is from Canada and is the other college counselor. The other picture is of Lubia (Looba). I'm not sure how to spell her name, but she is great. She is the counseling secretary, so I will be spending a lot of time with here. Carole ... don't worry ... you are irreplaceable in my eyes!!!
Anyway, that's the news for now. Gotta go make chowder. Hopefully tomorrow I'll have pictures of famous actors!!!

Hey, Daniel wants to know who Pete's RB and QB are for his team...

Everything sounds fantastic there so far. Great news!
