Lucy and Sofie are doing great! Lucy is still loving school, even though we has a setback due to a "mean boy" that called her a cry baby at recess. We're working on moving past that, however, because she loves to learn so much and has such a good time in the classroom.
Emma is doing great! She had her 6-month appointment to day and was in the 98th percentile for height and the 97th for weight. She has two teeth coming in on the bottom and is seconds away from crawling. Pete swore she took a couple of "crawls" forward this evening.
Pete and I are running around like chickens with their heads cut off. Pete is trying to get in all his hours for his admin license, in between working full time and being a dad of three and husband. He is doing a great job, but he is definitely exhausted at the end of the day. I am liking my new job as a middle school counselor (much to my surprise), but it is difficult to be away from the kids so much. But, that hasn't changed for the last four years, so nothing new there.
Sofie is taking a class Gymboree (thanks to my mom and dad) and loving it. She is too cute for words and keeping up with Lucy quite well. These first few pictures are from Courtney's (the girls' nanny) phone - just pics of their day-to-day lives.
Sofie was sick a couple of weeks ago. Here she is curled up on the couch the next morning.
She is taking after her sister - she loves to dress up in 800 things at the same time.
Emma is a joy. She is such a blessing. I think she is saying Mama, but we'll see :) She loves to squeal and play with her voice all the time.
Almost crawling.
We love our new house and our backyard. We try to get outside whenever we can.
On to Lucy's birthday ... This summer Lucy declared she wanted to spend her birthday at the beach. She and Pete created a schedule that started with Mickey Mouse pancakes and detailed the day that ended with watching Beauty and the Beast. We followed it almost to perfection.
Auntie Katy and Sof flying Lucy's new kite.
Random picture alert ... here are two pics of Lucy and Sofie eating s'mores this summer.
... back to the birthday ... here are the Mickey Mouse pancakes.
Emma with a typical grin.
Lucy would wear this nightgown every night if she could.
One of Lucy's scheduled birthday events was the Pumpkin Train at Rockaway. We were all set, the kids in their costumes (Lucy was Rapunzel, Sof was Minne Mouse, and Emma was a pumpkin), but Sof ended up not making the train. Matt and Syd were swinging her and her elbow came out of the socket (even writing that makes me cringe!) Pete and my dad had to take her to the ER where they put it back in place in two seconds. We were all so relieved when we got the call that everything was o.k. - lesson learned, though, no more swinging!
Lucy's birthday cake (exactly as was described in her agenda).
Trying to get all kids in a pic.
The next day we got to go on the train - this time with Sof. They loved it and even got their picture on the front page of the Rockaway paper.
Lucy in her card from Andy, Ali, Brady, and Drew.
My birthday was a week later and it was great! We went to breakfast, the kids and Pete made me cupcakes, I got a manicure, and Pete and I went on a date to a great Thai restaurant. It was a great day (although I can't believe I am 36!)
A couple of cute pics from the Harvest Festival at Lucy's school.
Emma trying some food - overall she is loving it.
Halloween came and went. The girls had a blast of course.
A fall trip to the park - Sof of course has her purse and necklace.
My best shot at the kids in their costumes.
Finally! November! The big event so far this month was Pinkalicious ... the musical! The girls dressed in pink (Sof had to represent her favorite color with a blue tutu). They had a blast!
Oh ... a couple more random pics that were sent to me from the Harvest Festival.

Another month flown by ... hard to believe. I love being HOME in Portland. It feels so good. It was a crazy ride to get here, but worth the trip.

Thank you for all the cute pics! Lucy and Sofs look much more alike than new baby sister. I feel like Emma looks more like her mama. They are all so beautiful and happy. Obviously they have amazing parents!
Thank you so much for the update and all of the photos! Big milestone for me...I now know how to post something with my name instead of as Anonymous. :)
Sof with her necklace and purse looks like a flash forward to when she 92. You all sound happy and healthy. Miss you.
is 92. is. Sorry about that.
