Summer Catch Up

We've been out having a fantastic summer so far. We kicked it off with a long trip that included Portland, Seattle, and I took a trip to Vegas with my dear friends while Pete watched the kids - it was a total blast, even though I missed Pete and the girls. Here's the summer catch up so far ...

Pete, the girls, and I went strawberry picking as a summer outing. It was super fun. I made my first ever batch of strawberry jam, along with some homemade strawberry ice cream and a strawberry pie. We actually were a bit strawberried out by the time all was said and done. Here are the girls eating the strawberry ice cream:

We were in P-Town for the 4th of July and this is the only picture I took. I tried to take one of the girls in their cute outfits, but none of them turned out. We actually had a pretty mellow fourth - we just relaxed, played, and had a BBQ with the family. We lit off fireworks at the end of the evening, which did not go over well again this year. I comforted a crying Lucy inside while the adults finished up the fireworks outside.

We stayed with Lorissa in Seattle. Carolyn and our other Seattle friends who read this blog, I'm sorry we didn't get a chance to see everyone. It was a super quick trip and then I flew out of Seattle with the girls for Vegas. We hope we can see everyone soon.
Our main outing with the girls was visiting the aquarium again. I think this is kind of a cool picture - both girls loved the jellyfish. Sofie is now WALKING!!! Yeah!!! She very much enjoyed her new-found freedom at the aquarium. She had been taking a few steps, but really took off on July 5th and is now walking everywhere!

These pics are from the last few days. We have been home since Monday, enjoying our time at home without having to work. Lucy decided to play dress up the other night. It cracks me up every time.

Sofie is getting into playing with Lucy more and more. Overall Lucy is pretty good about it and sometimes really enjoys playing with her. They are such sweet little monkeys. What a blessing it is for us to get the summer with them. I absolutely love it.
