Hanoi, excellent! Next stop - Portland!

We're back from Hanoi and it was a wonderful trip. The city had a very unique character due to the French influence and it was fun to explore what it had to offer. It was a great way to end the traveling extravaganza that we have been on for the past four years - our next planned flight is a 13-hour trip back to Portland where we will set up shop and hang up our traveling shoes for a little while - at least until the tiny traveling feet in our family get a little bigger. It has been a great adventure full of so many, many wonderful memories. Here are the first few images I have uploaded ... I will put up some more tomorrow.
There is a lake in the middle of the city and this is an entrance to a bridge that goes to a small island.
Lucy and Pete posing after our bridge crossing.
There were so many kids dressed up in their cute Chinese New Year outfits.
Pete had to have this hat ... Lucy was excited about the purchase as well.
Sandy - I wanted to tell you that either "Kong Hey Fat Choi" or "Gong Hey Fat Choi" is o.k. We see it both ways over here. In either case, we are now into the Year of the Ox and we hope it will be a good one for all of you! :)

Too fun! Hey Jinxy...I have a request. I want to see you and your belly (I don't mean bare)of the baby girl that is soon to join us. I feel like I haven't seen any of you and the new one to come.

Your post sorta brought a tear to my eye. I can't believe your travels are almost over and you are about to make your venture home!! I can't wait to have you closer again but I think it's so awesome that you and Pete did what you did and I'm glad I got to visit while you were away and see where you lived. It was a wonderful experience. :)XOXOXO
