This is a picture of Nikolay, the head guard at the school and the sweetest man on the planet ... until this party. Once a year Nikolay brings out his famous homemade rakiya (Bulgarian Moonshine, pretty much) and forces everyone to sample it. Pete learned his lesson last year, so he stayed as far away from Nikolay as possible and luckily I had an excuse. But, as you can see in this picture, Nikolay found many more victims throughout the evening.

A picture of Pete and Cooper ... Cooper is really from L.A., depsite the shirt he's wearing.

Pete, Scott, and I. We actually call Scott "Shamari," which is the Bulgarian word for spanking. At the beginning of the year we were at a restaurant with Scott and his wife, Ani, and for some reason he kept saying that the chef needed a "Shamari." I can't remember why the chef needed this, but for some reason he did. Anyway, ever since that night, we've called Scott "Shamari." Ha ha.

Truly, one of my absolute favorite things about Bulgaria is that everyone knows the traditional Bulgarian dances and at every gathering they always end up putting on traditional songs and dancing together. It is so cool to me. I have a video of this one too, but I'm not sure how to put it on here.

Here's another picture of Nikolay who, after a couple more glasses of rakiya, got up to sing a Bulgarian song. At the end of the song he said, "This song is about St. George riding a bicycle ... and ... many troubles he has." Then he left the stage. It was really funny, but you probably had to be there.

This is Greg providing an example of how one looks after one too many glasses of rakiya. (He really didn't have that much.)

A picture of Pete and Derek being dorks as usual ... you gotta love it. :)

A cute picture of Kathryn, Aaron, and Ani (Shamari's wife), towards the end of the evening.
All and all, it was a great party! We'll miss it next year!
