School Days

We are officially back to work! The first day of school was on Friday and we made it through. Both of us feel much better about our jobs this year, as we both will be able to concentrate a little more on one task instead of millions we both had last year. If you remember, some of these pictures look just about the same as the ones I posted on the first day of school last year. I love the first day of school here because the kids gather into the auditorium, the seniors get special recogintion and we all celebrate that it's their last year, then the new 8th grade class comes up on stage and all the students cheer for them and welcome them to ACS. It's fantastic. So, now that the first day is over it's time to get to work. These next few months will be busy for me. I am the only counselor this year, so I will be counseling and writing letters of recommendation for the entire senior class (105 students). The good news is that while the fall will be very busy, the spring should be pretty light.
Now, about the two pictures on the bottom ... the other night we were eating hamburgers (we bought a BBQ this year - YES!!!!) and Derek was trying to shake the last little bit of mayo out of the bottle. Well ... I think the pictures speak for themselves :) It was pretty funny.
I finally got my pictures back from the summer. I'll start posting them over the next few days. There are some good ones, but I'll warn you in advance - they are digital camera quality by any means. Oh well ... live and learn I guess.
Finally, GOOOOOOOOOO COUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGSSSSSSSSSS!!! It was so great to talk to my girls yesterday while you were at the Seattle Coug game. I love and miss you all!!! And, I was so excited to wake up this morning and hear the Cougs came through in the end! Fight, fight, fight for Washington State!!!! Whoo Hoo!!!
