Wonderful Weekend!

We had a fantastic weekend at the Oregon Coast! It was so great to get away, relax, and enjoy each other's company. What a treat! Having been to many beaches in the last few years, I can tell you that nothing beats the Oregon Coast - there is nothing in the world like it.
I posted these pictures backwards again ... oops.
I took this from the Sea Lion Caves parking lot ... we were going to go see the sea lions, but decided that it wasn't worth the $12 per person entrance fee. :)

A highlight was our trip to the Oregon Coast Aquarium ... Lucy loved it! She kept talking about how she got to touch a sea anemone. She loved these crabs for a second - then she decided she was scared of them. This weekend was the first time she has talked about being scared. She was scared of these guys and of the waves coming at her on the beach. One time she hugged Sofie and said to her, "It's o.k., Sof, don't be scared." So cute.
Our little observer. This picture is a little blurry, but I like it. Both Lucy and Sofie loved being in the shark tunnel. Looking at the sea lions.
Cute Sof ... you can see her two cute teeth (and her runny nose.) Lucy got a sea themed puzzle at the toy store in Yachats. It's her new favorite toy. At the beach ... it was freezing, but exploring the shore was a must. Despite the cold, Lucy would have explored the shore all day. She loved it - until the waves came up. Then she kept saying, "I don't like the beach ocean!" But, I don't put much faith in her disapproving comments - she also told us that she doesn't like patsies (our name for pacifier) and since there is rarely a time when one isn't in her mouth I tend not to believe her. :)

Here are some pics from the night before we left ... cute Sof.
The girls playing jump on Daddy.

A wonderful, wonderful weekend! A three-dayer was definitely needed, although it always makes coming back to work a bit more difficult. Oh well, one day closer to the next weekend, right?

Not much to report

Not much to report around here ... after a wonderful break, we are back at the ranch dispensing knowledge to the next generation. I always think this time of year is tough, rain, darkness, post-Christmas blues, lack of motivation, etc., but the kids add lots of excitement and laughs, which always makes us smile. We started swim lessons with the kids and do that every Monday and Wednesday. It makes for a busy evening, but the kids absolutely love it and it is nice to come home with them showered and in their pajamas.

Cute Sofie is crawling! She's been crawling for a little over a week now and is already trying to pull herself up. She is full of smiles, laughs, and giggles and is interacting with Lucy a bit more. Lucy loves to give her loves - it's pretty cute.

This picture is for Marge ... Lucy likes to put on the monk wig and play with toys. So funny. This picture is for my Aunt Lisa and Uncle George who got the girls these cute towels (a shark and a kitty cat) from Potterybarn Kids. So adorable and the girls love them. Lucy had to sleep in her shark towel last night!
I like these pictures - she looks like Max in Where the Wild Things Are ... she is a bit of a wild thing at times!
My team ... how I love these three peeps! I just want to scrunch their cute little faces!
Lastly, here is how Lucy prefers to take pictures these days. You can't ask her to smile or she says, "No smile. I want to close my eyes."
